What to Wear

Ballet Attire

What is the uniform for ballet?

The standard ballet dress code is a pink leotard, pink stockings, a ballet wrap skirt and ballet soft shoes. If you already have this attire for your child, that's perfect.

For the first few classes, your child can wear:

1) A camisole (spaghetti or sleeveless top) with leggings or stretch cotton cycling shorts and a pair of socks.

OR

2) A leotard with stockings and socks.

Color themes: Either Black or Pink.

Note: Please do not wear baggy clothes. This is so that the teacher can correct the child's form and posture. Also, the student's hair must be securely tied back into a bun.

Shops: There are various shops for ballet attire in India. Here are a few:

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Here at Virieno's Ballet, your child will learn the foundations of classical Ballet, most notably the Russian Vaganova style of ballet, acknowledged all over the world as the foremost training syllabus. Our classes focus first on creating a safe and comfortable space for the growth of each student.
Kid's Ballet & Preliminary Ballet is 45 minutes. Grade 1 is 60 minutes. Please note: students are asked to come 5 minutes before class.
Due to limited spots, we only allow 1 absence per month to be rescheduled. This applies to a normal absence (we ask parents to notify us preferably the day before), or a last-minute personal emergency. To make up the absence, we have a make-up class at the end of each month. Note: If your child cannot make it for that make-up class, we will try to place her so she can catch up over the next month, at the discretion of the instructor.
Because we are a home studio with smaller space capacity, there is no waiting room inside the house. For this reason, we've created an outside waiting space on the right side of the house, just in front of the studio space.
There are 4 weeks of class each month. That means that out of 30 or 31 days most months, there is 1 extra day remaining, which is the make-up class day. On that day, only students who have missed class and have a make-up class according to our missed-class policy will be asked to come.
If your child needs to miss class for one month, all you have to do is keep her spot for a minimal holding fee of ₹750 for that month. This policy is in place due to limited space and spots.
